Data: a vital tool for green buildings

It is becoming crucial to know your building and understand in real time where optimisations can be made. This is why data monitoring platforms, which can be accessed by various stakeholders, are becoming increasingly important. In particular, they allow occupants to better measure the impact of their energy consumption, waste generation and waste treatment habits, while owners can control the overall carbon footprint of their building.

For reputable, auditable companies subject to the CSRD [1] and required to apply EFRAG [2] reporting standards, these platforms are an intuitive way of reporting on actions taken within a building. For example, thanks to the installation of six new heat recovery cooling units and controlled energy consumption, the Coeur Défense [3] building reduced its consumption by 38.8% in 2022, equivalent to more than 8,600 MWh. In terms of carbon offsetting, this is equivalent to around 280 hectares of forest.

Data, advice from energy professionals and the integration of technologies within buildings are paving the way for a better understanding of the needs of each stakeholder, and are helping to boost their satisfaction.
